What makes Amon-Ra different from traditional lighting?
Amon-Ra is not traditional lighting or purely decorative design. It is a Belgian sculptural light object that combines art, design, and wellbeing into one statement piece.
By day, it functions as a sculptural artwork. By night, it transforms into an atmospheric light experience that influences the mood and feeling of a space.
Inspired by the sun and the moon, each piece transforms throughout the day.
Every Amon-Ra piece is hand-cast in resin and pigments and finished by hand in my atelier, making each object entirely unique.
Is every piece unique?
Yes. Every Amon-Ra is individually handmade and hand-cast in my atelier. Due to the artisanal process, textures, color nuances, and finishes will always vary slightly, giving each piece its own character and soul. Every piece is signed at the backside.
What is the price range for Amon-Ra?
For a unique piece from the catalogue (Ø 80 cm), the price is €2,250 for the sculptural object.
The wall suspension or stand both featuring an integrated light element are priced at €300.
For a wall piece without lighting (presented purely as an artwork), the mounting system is €200.
Custom pieces (Ø 80 cm) are priced at €2,550.
The inox stand or wall mounting system is available at the same price as above.
For other sizes or specific requests, pricing is available on request.
What is the influence of colour on our mind state?
Color isn’t just an aestetic pleasing element, it directly interacts with your brain, hormones, and nervous system, shaping how you feel, think, and even physically respond.
The effects come from both biology (how our brains process light) and psychology (associations and culture).
How can color affects the nervous system?
Light enters the eyes and is processed by the brain, especially areas linked to emotion, like the limbic system. Different wavelengths (colors) can either stimulate or calm the nervous system:
Depending on how color is used:
- Warm and bright colors (red, orange, yellow, bright green) → activating, energizing, focus
- Cool or more desaturated colors (blue, green, violet but also darker earth tones) → calming, regulating, grounding

Greens: balance & restoration
Yellows: alertness & mood lift

How does the process for a customised Amon-Ra work?
For customised pieces, we begin with a personal appointment, online or in person at Fosbury & Sons in Boitsfort or at your location in Belgium.
During this conversation, we discuss what is important to you, the atmosphere you would like to create, and whether you already have specific colour combinations in mind or prefer guidance and advice from me.
Taking your interior, the feeling of the space, and all important elements into consideration, I create a colour sample for your approval before starting the final piece.
Once everything feels aligned, I begin the artisan process of making your unique Amon-Ra in my atelier.
Do you work together with architects and interior designers?
Yes, i collaborate with interior designers, architects, hospitality projects, wellness spaces, restaurants, and private collectors looking for unique Belgian design pieces with a strong emotional and atmospheric presence.
Each project is approached personally and can be fully customised to the identity of the space.

What are the dimensions and weight?
The standard Amon-Ra piece has:
Diameter 80 cm
Weight approximately between 10–15 kg
Custom dimensions are possible upon request.

The object is crafted from high-quality UV-resistant resin combined with carefully selected pigments, giving it its unique color, depth, and finish.
The wall mounting system and the stand are crafted from inox (stainless steel), ensuring durability and a long lifespan.
Is Amon-Ra a Belgian design object?
Yes. Amon-Ra is a Belgian sculptural light object, designed and handcrafted by artist and designer Rebekka Vanderhaeghen in her atelier in Belgium.
Each piece reflects a balance between art, atmosphere, craftsmanship, and timeless Belgian design sensibility.
What kind of light is used?
The wall mounting system incorporates an integrated dimmable smart light, allowing the color temperature to be adjusted from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K. The LED delivers a light output ranging from 90 to 2300 lumens.
The stand version is equipped with an integrated warm LED bulb (806 lumens, 220–240V), delivering the equivalent of a 60W traditional light while consuming only 7.3W. Replacement bulbs are available on request.
How can the light object be installed?
Amon-Ra can be:
- Placed against the wall for a more seventies vibe
- Hung on the wall with or without integrated lighting
- Placed on a matching stand with a light holder and lightbulb

Does Amon-Ra include lighting?
Amon-Ra is available both with and without integrated lighting.
Standard it coms with a light but can also be placed just as a colourful artwork.
With integrated light, the object creates a soft atmospheric glow that changes the mood of the space beautifully from day to evening.
Can I return the light object?
Because each Amon-Ra is handmade and created especially for you, customised pieces cannot be returned once the colour sample has been approved. If the item has been damaged in trasport, it can be repaired.
I take great care in guiding you through the selection process to ensure the final piece feels fully aligned with your space and vision before production begins.
What kind of atmosphere does Amon-Ra create?
Each color composition creates a different emotional atmosphere. Some color combinations feel energising, enhance focus, while others are softer, grounding, and calming for the nervous system.
The pieces are designed not only as visual objects, but also as sensory experiences within a space.

Each project is developed in dialogue with the atmosphere, identity of the space and the people within it.
How long does production take?
Because every piece is handmade, production times vary depending on the complexity and size of the project. For regular sizes ( 80 cm) it will take between 2 and 3 weeks to make.
For customised work, timing will be discussed personally during the design process.
Do you deliver in Belgium?
Yes. Delivery is free throughout Belgium.
For international projects, shipping options can be discussed upon request.
Do you deliver outside Europe?
Yes. Upon request, I can arrange international shipping outside Europe.
Each piece is carefully prepared and packaged to ensure it arrives safely. Shipping options, timing, cost and transport details can be discussed personally depending on the destination and the nature of the project.
Can I commission a completely bespoke piece?
Yes. Besides the existing collection, I also create fully bespoke sculptural light objects for private collectors, interior designers, architects, and commercial projects.

Can the lighting be dimmed?
Yes. The integrated lighting system can be fully dimmed to create the perfect atmosphere, from a soft ambient glow to a more present luminous effect.
You can easily adjust the brightness through an app.
Can I change the colour temperature of the light?
Yes. The colour temperature can be adjusted via the app, allowing you to shift between warmer and cooler tones depending on the mood, time of day, or atmosphere you want to create.
This makes Amon-Ra adaptable to different interiors and emotional experiences, from calming evening light to a brighter, more energising ambiance.
Is the lighting smart-controlled?
Yes. The integrated lighting can be controlled through an app, giving you the flexibility to personalise both intensity and colour temperature directly from your phone or tablet.
What is your return policy?
Catalogue pieces may be returned within 14 days of delivery at the customer’s expense, provided the work is in perfect, undamaged condition; only then is a refund possible. Customised pieces are created specifically for you and are therefore non-refundable once approved. In the event of damage during transport, the piece can be repaired in the atelier, but is not eligible for a refund.
